Open Call: Solo Exhibition at Maake Projects
SOLO EXHIBITION at Maake Projects in State College, PA
DEADLINE EXTENDED until November 5th, 2019
Artists working in all media, and based in any geographic location are invited to apply for this open call. Artists will be given a solo exhibition at our new project space in central PA. Artists will be awarded a $500 honorarium for exhibition related expenses. We will provide assistance for a public opening reception event for the exhibition. Eligibility & Terms:
• Artists working in all media are welcome to apply
• Artists must be 18 years old or older to apply
• Artists may be based anywhere in the world
Submission Fee $20
Proposal: Please describe your vision for the exhibition in detail (max 500 words).
Notification: Applicants will be notified by December 15th, 2019.
Additional information:
Selected artists will be featured on Maake’s website and social media, and interviewed about their work. The interview will be featured online. The artist will have the opportunity to give an artist talk at the space in conjunction with the show.
The exhibition dates will be determined upon selection as an exhibiting artist. Selected artist(s) will work with Maake Projects to schedule a date in 2020 that works for both the artist and gallery. A plan of the gallery will be provided.
Artists may exhibit work that is already made, or made specifically for this exhibition. Images can be work you would like to include, or examples of the types of work you would like to include, or images that illustrate your ideas in some way. The images you submit do not have to appear in the exhibition.
Artists are required to fully participate in the installation of the exhibition and be present for the opening reception. Artists may be required to participate in the deinstallation of the exhibition, depending on the nature of the show.
All applicants will be considered for future solo and group exhibition opportunities, and publishing opportunities through Maake Magazine and Maake Projects. A list of top submissions will also receive exposure through our social media outlets, and will be listed on our website.
